Transfer news: Denilson will stay at Sao Paulo
Arsenal midfielder Denilson has extended his loan at Sao Paulo for another year.
The 24-year-old has fallen out of favour in north London and the Brazilian club were delighted to keep him.
Head coach Emerson Leao said: “Denilson has much quality and last season he performed well here. Arsenal, rightly, would not initially release the player.
“Fortunately we had high-level talks in England with the board and everything was settled for the extension of the player’s deal. I am sure he will continue to be a benefit to the team.”
Andre Villas-Boas thinks Tottenham may have succeeded in their final day push for Champions League football had referee Andre Marriner awarded Gareth Bale a penalty - rather than book him for diving.
