Transfer news: Gregory van der Wiel is unhappy at Ajax
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham target Gregory van der Wiel has blasted Ajax, claiming that they only want to make money out of him.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires next year and the Dutch giants are desperate to cash in on their man.
“I now know the club’s policy. It’s become clear to me that Ajax just want to make money off me. That’s why they’re pressuring me. It’s never a good thing when your club wants you to leave,” Van der Wiel stated to Algemeen Dagblad.
“It’s apparently no longer an option to stay. It’s not up to me any more. I do hope that the club realises I’ve been here since the age of seven. It’s always been my dream to play here and I’ve always given 100 per cent. And I will continue to do so until the end.”
Andre Villas-Boas thinks Tottenham may have succeeded in their final day push for Champions League football had referee Andre Marriner awarded Gareth Bale a penalty - rather than book him for diving.
