Johan Derksen is furious with Gregory van der Wiel’s performances for Holland during Euro 2012

Former Dutch footballer Johan Derksen has blasted Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea target Gregory Van der Wiel for his performances at Euro 2012.

Holland crashed out at the group stage, with only the Republic of Ireland having a worse record and Derksen believed the full back had his mind elsewhere.

“[Gregory Van der Wiel] was working on everything except football,” he told Voetbal International. “He has his own clothing line and was working too long on it.

“Plus he was working on hip hop music and was getting his hair done every day. Players hardly saw him without headphones on.

“He wasn’t listening to music only during matches and training.”
