Team GB manager Stuart Pearce has named Manchester United star Ryan Giggs as captain of the side for the Olympic Games.
The Welshman is one of the three over-age player in the squad along with Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards.
This is Giggs’ first international tournament, with Wales never qualifying for the Euros or a World Cup, but the veteran has won 12 Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two Champions Leagues during his 21 year association with the Red Devils.
Arsenal (Aaron Ramsey), Chelsea (Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge), Tottenham (Danny Rose and Steven Caulker) and West Ham (James Tomkins) all are represented in Team GB’s side.
Team GB: Joe Allen, Craig Bellamy, Ryan Bertrand, Jack Butland, Steven Caulker, Tom Cleverley, Jack Cork, Craig Dawson, Ryan Giggs, Aaron Ramsey, Micah Richards, Danny Rose, Scott Sinclair, Marvin Sordell, Jason Steele, Daniel Sturridge, Neil Taylor, James Tomkins.
Andre Villas-Boas thinks Tottenham may have succeeded in their final day push for Champions League football had referee Andre Marriner awarded Gareth Bale a penalty - rather than book him for diving.
