Surrey captain Rory Hamilton-Brown has returned to the Surrey side for their Clydesdale Bank 40 game against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

The batsman returns to the squad after a period of compassionate leave after the death of friend and team-mate, Tom Maynard.

Jade Dernbach also returns to the side after a side strain picked up while on England duty.

The south Londoners were beaten by the Outlaws two weeks ago at Guildford and head coach Chris Adams wants to return to winning ways in order to keep the pressure on their Group B rivals.

“The defeat to the Outlaws at Guildford was our first in the competition this season and we know how important it is to bounce straight back at Trent Bridge,” he said.

We have played some excellent cricket in the Clydesdale Bank 40 this summer and with five group games left we know how crucial it is that we get back to playing our best one day cricket starting against the Outlaws on Wednesday.

We are delighted to welcome Rory Hamilton-Brown back into the squad. He is ready to play cricket again and that is excellent news for the team and the club”.

Squad: Batty, Hamilton-Brown, Roy, Wilson, de Bruyn, Ansari, Burns, Kartik, Meaker, Lewis, Dernbach
