The wicketkeeper has signed a new deal
Surrey wicketkeeper Steven Davies has signed a new three-year deal with the county.
The stumper is yet to make his Test debut but is believed to be England keeper Matt Prior’s understudy and he was brought in as standby when the Sussex man was a doubt for the West Indies Test.
“I am delighted to be staying with Surrey and I am really looking forward to building on the success this great club has enjoyed over the years,” Davies said.
“I feel very privileged to be part of such a talented team and I am excited about realising my ambitions for both club and country.”
Surrey Team Director Chris Adams added: “Steven is such an important player and person for the Team. As a wicket keeper who performs vital batting roles in all forms of the game his stock is high so to secure him for a further three seasons is great news for the club.
“With his ambition firmly set on team success allied with that of an international career Surrey are primed to see the very best of Steve in the coming seasons.”
