Vikram Solanki is excited about his Surrey switch
Veteran Worcestershire batsman Vikram Solanki is looking forward to joining Surrey at the end of the 2012 season, and says it wasn’t a difficult decision once he became aware of their interest.
The former England limited-overs player has been at Worcestershire for 20 years, including five as captain, but is looking to start a successful era at Surrey.
“Once Surrey were interested it was a fairly easy decision for me to make,” Solanki told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
“I’m hugely excited for what is ahead and really looking forward to it,
“I hope to have a successful time at Surrey,” he continued. “I think I’ve got a lot of cricket left in me and I hope I can contribute towards success at Surrey.”
Former Haringey Police ABC amateur Erick ‘The Eagle’ Ochieng will get a shot at the British light-middleweight title after reigning champion Brian Rose gave up the belt.
