Batsmen bullish about his decision to remain at the crease
Surrey hero Zafir Ansari does not feel guilty after refusing to walk against Warwickshire after it appeared that he had been caught by William Porterfield off the bowling of Jeetan Patel.
The 20-year-old survived the scare and resisted 88 overs to score an unbeaten 83 as the relegation threatened county survived against the title chasers after following on.
“I don’t feel too guilty about it,” Ansari said.
“I wasn’t absolutely sure that the ball carried and the idea than anyone else would have done anything else amuses me.
“Most of the Warwickshire players said ‘well played’ at the end.”
Andre Villas-Boas thinks Tottenham may have succeeded in their final day push for Champions League football had referee Andre Marriner awarded Gareth Bale a penalty - rather than book him for diving.
