London Heathside’s Sue Rust was third runner home in 34:09 as she led her club to a third-placed finish, but Highgate were the day’s big winners as they secured first place.

Other Highgate finishers high up the field were Lindsay Kehoe in ninth (35:35), Sarah Bailey in 10th (35:40), and 13th-placed Louise Flaherty (36:42).

Natasha Cendrowicz finished 22nd, Gaelle Lebray was 26th and Kirat Nandra 59th.

There were also celebrations for the Harriers’ Under-13 boys’ team, who took gold ahead of Thames Valley Harriers and Enfield & Haringey.

George Gould led the Harriers home in fourth place in 12:37, followed closely by Alexander Machin-Paley in sixth (12:42), and Terrance Fawden in eighth (13:01).

They were backed up by Arnold Harrison (21st in 14:10) and Keshin Harrison (30th in 15:03).
