These are the first glimpses of how Alexandra Palace will look after it has undergone an orange Olympic transformation.

A video released today shows what the Palace will look like when it becomes the Olympic Village venue for Holland, which will welcome Dutch athletes and supporters during the Olympic Games as Holland Heineken House.

The preview begins with a computer-generated image of Alexandra Palace, boasting a decidedly orange glow and proudly flying the Dutch flag over the Palm Court entrance.

It then moves inside the iconic venue - where fans can watch coverage of events in an “arena”, a smart “Olympic Club” with a bar and outside seating, and an athletes area where tired sportsmen and women can relax on comfortable sofas.

But the highlight of the venue is the Great Hall, which becomes the Medal Ceremony Hall. Here, winners will proudly stand on a giant stage in front of the famous organ, to be cheered on by their countrymen - as well as the lucky non-Dutch nationals who manage to get tickets to the cultural house.

Hans Erik Tuijt, Heineken’s global activation manager, said: “Holland Heineken House celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and this unique virtual tour shows that it will be the most memorable house yet, both in terms of size and the experience we will offer our visitors.

“Heineken has an unparalleled reputation for providing consumers with the extraordinary, and it is no surprise that Holland Heineken House welcomed 100,000 fans in Beijing 2008 and 120,000 at Vancouver 2010.

“It is our goal to provide an even better experience in London.”
