People who stumbled across the scene on a Tottenham street at the weekend would have been forgiven for thinking they had wandered into the middle of a circus.

At its height, about 150 people of all ages had spilled from their homes into the road to take part in - or just watch - the range of activities on offer, culminating in a group dance.
Steve Bryan, who helped organise the day, said the event was a “great success” - the effects of which last long after the last reveller has returned home.
He said: “There is just such a lovely warm feeling for weeks afterwards. Sometimes, when you walk along the road and you see your neighbour, you say hello and keep your head down.
