Organisers held two rounds of auditions to find music and dance acts to appear on the carnival’s youth stage in Bruce Castle Park, Lordship Lane, next Saturday.

The auditions were held at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, in Town Hall Approach Road, South Tottenham, over the last fortnight to decide on this year’s youth stage line-up.

Organiser Nicky Price told the Journal: “The judges were blown away – we did a ‘judges den’ at the auditions, which is a cross between the X Factor and Dragon’s Den.

“We concentrated a lot on the youth stage to find the cream of talent from Tottenham and Haringey. They are the acts that will be the stars of the future.”

All successful acts from the group of 100 that auditioned were informed of their place on the line-up last Friday.
