Friday, day seven of the Games, is set to be the busiest yet, as athletics events start.

Restrictions on acessibility into Westfield Stratford City will be in place to cope with the volume of people making their way to the Olympic Park.

From 10.30am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday the shopping centre will only be open to accredited workers, Games ticket holders, and people picking up their passes or using hospitality venues.

It is expected more than 200,000 spectators and accredited workers will travel to Stratford tomorrow.

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR), Jubilee and Central lines are expected to be busier than usual, particularly in the morning, evening and late evening peaks.

Transport for London (TfL) said driving in central London should be avoided where possible.

London’s Transport Commissioner, Peter Hendy, said: “This Friday and Saturday will be the busiest days of the Games so far as the Olympic Stadium opens its doors and sporting events continue to take place across the capital.

“Westfield Stratford City may not be open to shoppers without a ticket during these times but London has a rich and vast array of other attractions to offer during the Games, so I encourage everyone to enjoy the theatres, restaurants, shops, free concerts, Live Sites and attractions and to continue to use GetAheadoftheGames.com to plan your journeys.”
