Glamorous customer Dina Williams, centre, was given a full vintage look on Saturday with make-up and hair by talented duo ‘Pincurls & Pout’ - also known as Liz Sellick, left, and Jeanette Fuster Burnett, back.

They were part of an array of retro-fixated entrepreneurs who offered food, fancy gifts and more at The Boogaloo in Archway Road, Highgate.

“It has turned into a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon,” said Susanna Guidone-Sorkin, one of the organisers, of Victoria Road, Muswell Hill.

“Most markets have a cake stall but we have a tea party as well, and set up chairs and tables. A young lady and her friend were going to a Buddy Holly night that night and so they booked themselves in for a makeover. ‘Jeanie and Betsy’ give another level of service!”

She added: “We get packed out every single month - and we could probably double the size of the market if we wanted to because of the number of people that want to do it.”

The event returns on March 3, this time as a Make Time For Tea event as part of The Eve Appeal, raising funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer month.
