A walking tour of Haringey’s partly hidden Moselle River winds its way through Tottenham and Wood Green this weekend.

Chris Barker will lead a leisurely three-mile walk along part of the route of the Moselle, starting at its endpoint in Markfield Park, Tottenham and walking upstream to Lordship Rec in Wood Green.

The river, mostly buried underground, runs west to east through Haringey, surfacing in Queen’s Wood in Muswell Hill.

Walkers will be able to soak up the historical remnants of the eastern side of Tottenham High Road during the walk, which starts at 10am at Markfield Park Café, off Markfield Road.

It is part of the A River Runs Through It project to raise awareness of the river, its history and some of the crafts and industries fed from its banks.

The walk ends at Lordship Rec, just in time to catch a horticultural fair, health and wellbeing event and the annual Lordship Rec Dogs Show there.

For full details on the dog show see the link to the right of this story.
