A team of students from Greig City Academy will be heading to the US to represent the UK after taking the trophy in a national robotics competition.

Benedict Whitehead, 12, from Stroud Green, Mitchell Kingsland and Umar Raja, both 12 from Tottenham, Tanvir Ahmed, 12, from Wood Green and Max Hahn, 13, from Crouch End, will be flying to Louisville, Kentucky, in April to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship..

Max said: “We won in the competition that we weren’t expecting to.

“The first competition, programming, is the one we which we expected to win on, but we won on the teamwork challenge.”

“We are really looking forward to [going to the US], and we have had an idea to improve our robot even more, so we will be trying to get that done before we go.”
