Pickled Pepper Books, in Middle Lane, welcomed best-selling local children’s author Karen McCombie, kept the little ones quiet with a special storytime session and entertained the whole family with a day of board games.

The packed weekend of events ensured it was not just the locals who visited the bookshop. People travelled from across London to see Crouch End’s newest venture.

Pickled Pepper’s Urmi Merchant, who opened the children’s bookshop with her husband Steven Pryse, said: “We were quite overwhelmed with the response.”
