A man was assaulted in front of three young children in a “despicable” racist attack at Tottenham Hale rail station.

The 28-year-old man was set upon by four men between 6pm and 7pm on Sunday, February 26, as he, his partner, a friend and three children returned from a day out.

The group, who had clearly been drinking, made racially-offensive slurs towards the young children as they travelled to Tottenham Hale along the Victoria line.

The men followed the family at Tottenham Hale up to platform 2. The victim told them to go away but was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by one man, before the rest kicked and punched him.

The main instigator is described as white, about 6ft 1in tall, of average build with a shaven head and stubble. He was wearing a green jumper, blue jeans and trainers. The rest of the group are believed to have been wearing Arsenal football tops.

Witnesses are asked to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference B9/LNA of 01/03/12, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
