A Tottenham man was stabbed to death last week in an alleged dispute with a love rival, a court heard.
Kemar Duhaney, 21, of Bruce Grove, was found collapsed with a stab wound to his heart in Buxhall Crescent, Hackney Wick, at 11.47am last Wednesday.
Paramedics performed open heart surgery on the scene but were unable to save Mr Duhaney who died in hospital later that day at 5.30pm.
Jamaican-born Damien Douglas, 23, of Ballance Road, Hackney, appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday charged with Mr Duhaney’s murder.
The court was told Douglas allegedly attacked Mr Duhaney, also a Jamaican native, after finding him half-naked in his former partner’s bedroom - an altercation which is said to have spilt out onto the street where Mr Duhaney was later found.
Douglas was remanded in custody until a plea and case management hearing on October 12.
An inquest into Mr Duhaney’s death was opened at Poplar Coroners’ Court yesterday and adjourned until the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
