Teenage Tottenham rioter jailed

A Tottenham teenager who threw missiles at police during last summer’s riots has been jailed.

Andrew Pavlou, of Reed Road, was ordered to serve 14 months in a young offenders’ institute after he admitted one count of violent disorder at Wood Green Crown Court.

The unemployed 19-year-old was arrested in December after footage showed him throwing at least three missiles at officers outside Tottenham Police Station on August 6.

During a search of his home address a quantity of cannabis was also seized by police, adding a second charge of possession.

Pavlou pleaded guilty to this offence at Highgate Magistrates’ Court, Highbury Corner, on January 5 and was fined £35 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
