Police are appealing for help tracing a man wanted in connection with a rape in Hornsey who failed to answer bail a year ago.

Laurence Chris Chinagu - known as Chris Chinagu - was arrested on December 1, 2009, on suspicion of rape.

His arrest relates to allegations that a 25-year-old woman was assaulted at an address in Great Amwell Lane in the New River Village development at approximately 10:30pm that night.

The 36-year-old was bailed by police to return pending further enquiries, and was due to attend Romford police station on June 10 last year - but failed to do so.

He is a black man whose last known address was Albert Square, Stratford, east London, and police think he may now be in south London.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Metropolitan Police’s Sapphire team on 020 7230 8666, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
