A Muswell Hill woman has appeared in court charged with attempting to smuggle £10million worth of cocaine into the UK from South America.

Paula Sanchez, 32, of Gilson Place, in Coppetts Road, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court today after police discovered 200kg of cocaine with a street value in excess of £10million.

She was charged with conspiracy to import class A drugs on Saturday, along with Gilmar Gil Solano, 24, of Deptford, and Martha Santiago, 35, of Woolwich.

Sanchez was remanded in custody to appear again for a plea and case management hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on August 31.
