Police found the teenager unconscious in Greenfield Road.

A teenager was beaten around the head with bricks and left unconscious in a Tottenham street by a group of seven Congolese men on Friday night.

Police found the 19-year-old man, who is also Congolese, unconscious in Greenfield Road, South Tottenham, at about 7.50pm.

It is believed the victim was set upon by the group, aged in their 20s to 30s, near to West Green Road and Greenfield Road.

The group repeatedly punched him and hit him in the head with bricks.

One passer-by described seeing blood stains on the road and on parked cars.

Paramedics rushed the victim to the Royal London Hospital where he has since been discharged. No arrests have yet been made.

Det Con Marysia Temple, of Haringey CID, said: “This was a shocking and violent attack on a young man in a public street.

“I am appealing to the Congolese community and anyone else who witnessed the incident to make contact with me if they have any information that could assist the investigation.”
