Champagne and salmon thief pleads guilty to stealing luxury goods

A man stole up to £1,500-worth of antiquities from a supermarket and plundered another for champagne and tinned salmon.

Chad Piper will appear at Wood Green Crown Court after pleading guilty to burglary, battery and theft.

Piper, 34, stole about £1,500-worth of antiquities from Brand New Start in Crouch End on April. He then broke into the same store on April 2 and assaulted a man.

On April 26, he stole four bottles of champagne and 15 tins of salmon from Waitrose in Crouch End Broadway.

Piper was remanded in custody and will be appearing at Wood Green Crown Court for sentencing. The date of the sentencing is to be confirmed.
