A Crouch End pupil with designs on Christmas has had her depiction of Santa Claus and Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer immortalised in a limited-edition gift card after winning a shopping centre competition.

Rose Garrett, 10, has been named the winner of The Mall Wood Green and Walthamstow’s Christmas gift card competition and her design appears on this year’s cards, issued at both shopping centres.

Rose, a pupil at St Gilda’s Catholic junior school in Oakington Way, Crouch End, won an art set and a £50 gift card with her design on it, and a £200 card for the school.

Rose said: “I am really excited to have won as I’ve never won a competition like this before, although I’ve entered loads!

“It’s a real achievement in my life. It was great to be able to tell my mum and dad that I’d won too.”

Craig Higgins, marketing manager at The Mall Walthamstow, said: “We were hugely impressed with all the entries we received. Walthamstow and Wood Green has a lot of talented and creative youngsters. However, we thought Rose’s picture of Rudolph and Santa was particularly memorable and perfectly captured the magic of Christmas.”

The card with the new design is available to buy at the shopping centres now.
