Lynne Featherstone reflects on her campaign
What’s the first thing you’d do if you were elected? How will you spend May 8? I’d spend the day thanking the hundreds of volunteers who helped my campaign, and the residents of Hornsey and Wood Green who voted for me.
If you were in government, what would be the first policy you’d like to introduce? The Lib Dems will try to put all of our manifesto into practice – but if I had to pick one priority, I’d kickstart our plans to build 300,000 new homes. New homes are the only way to ease the pressure on social housing supply and private sector rents – both at crisis level.
If you don’t get elected, what will you do? Rest, spend time with my friends and family, and decide where best to direct my energy!
Who do you think will win in Hornsey & Wood Green? It will be very close. The US election guru Nate Silver has me down to edge it…
Where will you be going on election night? To be confirmed! It will be somewhere big enough for my entire team and me.
What has been your favourite memory from the campaign so far? The final week – where over 500 volunteers (including Paddy Ashdown and Shirley Williams!) arrived to help the campaign. We have really started to feel the momentum on our side in the last few weeks and there’s been a very positive feel to the campaign.
