TOTTENHAM Hotspur have unveiled new plans for their stadium and redevelopment of the White Hart Lane site - keeping highly-valued listed buildings and a larger public square.

The Northumberland Development Project plans, revealed today (Wednesday), include a number of significant changes to areas surrounding the iconic stadium, following consultation with the public. They include:

A redesigned hotel and residential buildings;

An enlarged public square on a raised podium, extending from the High Road to Worcester Avenue and connecting directly to the stadium;

A new courtyard setting for historic buildings facing the High Road, including Grade II listed Warmington House, the Red House, the Dispensary and the former White Hart Pub - all with historic links to the club. All will be refurbished and brought back to life;

A "Skybar" and roof garden on the supermarket planned for Northumberland Park, linked directly to the stadium;

The famous Bill Nicholson Gates, 'Cockerel on the Ball' clock and 'Golden Cockerel' statue will remain in the public area;

A new club megastore with integrated club museum, ticket office and café.

The new plans will be submitted to Haringey Council this week. The previous application received more than 800 responses from individuals, groups and businesses.

There was unrest about the proposed loss of listed and cherished buildings facing the High Road, which will now be saved.

Bernie Kingsley, chairman of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust, said: "The new scheme looks impressive. The stadium is an exceptional building of which all Spurs fans would be rightly proud, and it is now surrounded by an even larger public square and cafes and bars."

Daniel Levy, Spurs chairman, said: "We have looked again at the overall masterplan and design of buildings in the south, as well as the impact on Tottenham High Road.

"We have used this opportunity to make further design improvements to the scheme.

Stadium Architect David Keirle added: "The stadium itself will be one of the finest anywhere in the world
