A SECOND Tottenham starlet is currently gracing the West End stage in hit musical Daddy Cool.

Michael-Joel Stuart, nine, of Trulock Road, Tottenham, gave his first performance last Wednesday, after landing the role of the young Sunny in the show, which is based on teh music of Boney M.

He went through a series of gruelling, X-Factor-style auditions in front of a panel of judges to get the part - and he sailed through.

He is the second Tottenham youngster to star in the show, following hot on the heels of Dion Laughton, 11, who goes to the same Tottenham stage school, Kids Ahead.

Michael-Joel said: "It's fun. I like doing it because it's so energetic. You get to run around and do everything just like me.

"It was a bit nerve racking at first but when you get used to it, it's like a rehearsal."

The youngster, who is at St

Paul's and All Hallows School, Tottenham, has been acting since he was five after being taken along to his mum Victoria's acting classes and refusing to sit quietly and do his homework.

They eventually let him join in and Michael-Joel has since appeared in plays at Edmonton's Millfield Theatre and Jackson's Lane Community Centre, in Archway Road.

He now goes along to stage school, Kids Ahead, at CONEL, who put him forward for the show.

Dawn Mathers, director of Kids Ahead, said: "It's fantastic and Daddy Cool is one of the most popular shows in the West End. I've never been to a theatre with such an atmosphere. Everyone got up, it's incredible."

She added: "He is only nine and it's a lot to learn. He does a dance, acting in a song and a rap."

Mum Victoria said: "It's amazing. They have booked him until April 30. He's got a lot of shows to do.
