Ram raid gang steal cash machine
A GANG of burglars made off with an entire cash machine after ram-raiding a mini-market and loading it into the back of a van.
The suspects, described as four slim men, repeatedly slammed a tiny white Suzuki Rascal van into the shutters of the shop in Church Road, Tottenham, at about 3.20am on Monday morning.
They managed to get into the shop and manhandle the cash machine into the back of the van, before making off with the tailgate left swinging open.
Only three of them got back in the van - the fourth ran off towards King Street, said police.
The empty van was later recovered by officers less than half a mile away in Hartham Road, off Bruce Grove.
Police say that at one point it mounted the pavement in Church Road to avoid bollards and drove the wrong way down a one-way street.
It had been reported stolen from nearby Clyde Road earlier that night.
Detectives from Haringey CID are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the van between Church Road and Hartham Road, and from anyone who saw what happened.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Craig Carter of Haringey CID on 020 8345 0886, or call Crime-stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
