Expanding IT firm means job boost

A YOUNG tycoon is bringing new jobs to Hornsey as his business expands.

Peter Paduh's award-winning computer recycling company Maxitech is set to double capacity by opening a second site off Hornsey High Street.

The addition to its existing site at the Chocolate Factory in Wood Green will make the not-for-profit company the largest computer recycler in London - and double the number of training opportunities to 200.

Mr Paduh, 28, who fled the war-torn Balkans as a 15-year-old refugee, said: "We are not going to be able to employ all these people ourselves but when they finish their placements most of them will end up getting jobs in other places so, yes, we're creating jobs."

Hornsey councillor Quincy Prescott said: "People are increasingly aware of the huge importance of recycling and Maxitech are leaders in their field. I'm delighted to see them expand and create more opportunities."

Mr Paduh was voted young businessperson of the year by the London Chamber of Commerce and ITV.
